What to say over the Phone

Do you ever wondering when your having a conversation over the phone "Is their someone else listening to our conversation?" Well in Maine the Public Utilities Commission has thought about investigating Verizon whether if they violated privacy laws by sharing information with the domestic surveillance program. Some privacy act may have been violated. Who knows? Well the Bush administration is threatening to sue Maine's regulators if they decide to investigate. The federal government will do anything to silence something that tarnishes their name. More reports now come in about other phone companies cooperating with the government surveillance efforts by giving away phone call records. Should we speak about our secrets over the phone now?

Verizon jumps from EV-DO to Rev. A

In a recent effort to overshadow the iPhone and to stay on the map, Verizon has upgraded its EV-DO network to Revision A technology. This service, which has already been implemented in areas across the nation, will allow Verizon subscribers to access content and extremely higher rates of speed. EV-DO subscribers can expect average downloads times to be between 600kbps to 1.4 Mbps and the upload times will be within the 500-800 kbps range. This is a great attempt from Verizon to up their network to combat the surge in service offered by competing carriers from the likes of Cingular and Sprint. Kudos to Verizon for upping their network, next on the list is to offer better looking phones.

Cheers,

John

MTV gives Verizon Env a "Super Sweet 16"

It was only a matter of time before MTV jumps into the mobile industry and starts to capitalize on what is becoming a mobile boom. MTV has recently released a "Super Sweet 16" movie for Verizon VCast subscribers which is stated to be released between before its DVD counterpart. This is a glimpse as to what is to come in the mobile industry as we progress more and more each day with an overwhelming amount of new and more profitable ways to capitalize on the mobile industry. The show will be available through most of Verizon's flagship models including the LG Env, chocolate, and Razr MAXX Ve and others that utilize Vcast. So now we can watch spoiled 16 year old kids spend 4x our yearly salary on our mobile phones. Great.

Cap on Verizon Unlimited Data Plan

It's no big surprise that wireless companies will occasionally "change" a plan for better or worst and our subject today is Verizon Wireless putting a cap on their "Unlimited Data" plan. It was rumored for awhile that the cap was going to be put at 5GB a month which is bearable, but new news has surfaced that the actual cap will be at 4GB! This is insane because I personally know individuals who subscribe to this so called "unlimited data" for the sole purpose of having the ability to use data without worrying about monthly limits. This move by Verizon is to cut down on individuals who "abuse" the plan by using the unlimited data to their advantage for other reasons. This is bold move by Verizon, far from good but bold, and all we can do is sit back in our chairs and accept it for what it is, Great job Verizon you've officially downgraded the term "unlimited".
Cheers,
John
